INTERACTIVE: Groove space with space fog

Join us every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month 1pm-4pm at hi-fidelity (200 Anderson Street, Bay 6 Portland, Maine) Get to know your fellow musicians as we have a casual afternoon jam catered to all levels of experience. We will groove on simple digestible forms ranging anywhere from 1 chord to a 4 chord loop. Are we on the verse or the chorus? It doesn’t matter because each jam has a simple, repetitive, and predictable progression (we’re not even going to take it to the bridge). Respect your musical neighbors and leave space for the group to listen to each other and create something unique in the moment.

TTRPG at Hi-Fidelity

First and Third Sundays of the month an intrepid group of adventures gather at Hi-Fidelity in search of glory, treasure, and justice (terms and conditions apply)!

Join us for a night of rolling dice and slaying monsters! Players of all experience levels are welcome and we have dice and character sheets to spare!

Last time in the Sunless Citadel adventure: The party is reunited! Rye manages to stabilize Ander’s wounds while Snafflewood deals with the remaining goblins. Unfortunately one of them manages to escape to warn his bretheren and the way forward may be better guarded than what are adventurer’s have encountered so far.

They find Erky Timbers, a Gnome Cleric of Pelor, locked up in the stockades. Erky offers the aid of his god to help heal the party’s wounds before they continue, and the party decides to camp and plan their next move. Beyond the stockades lies a now fortified archery range and they learn from the captured Goblin warrior that Calcryx, the White Dragon stolen from the Kobolds, has proven to be more trouble than treasure. Perhaps there is a way to negotiate passage through Goblinville without further bloodshed in exchange for dealing with a small dragon problem?

Find out next time on the Adventure’s of The Second Breakfast Club (name still a work in progress)

Small Books and Tall Pours

Join us at the Hi-Fidelity book club, Small Books and Tall Pours every third Saturday at 2:00! This Month we’re reading Everything is Tuberculosis by John Greene!

Tuberculosis has been entwined with humanity for millennia. Once romanticized as a malady of poets, today tuberculosis is a disease of poverty that walks the trails of injustice and inequity we blazed for it.

In 2019, John Green met Henry, a young tuberculosis patient at Lakka Government Hospital in Sierra Leone while traveling with Partners in Health. John became fast friends with Henry, a boy with spindly legs and a big, goofy smile. In the years since that first visit to Lakka, Green has become a vocal and dynamic advocate for increased access to treatment and wider awareness of the healthcare inequities that allow this curable, treatable infectious disease to also be the deadliest, killing 1.5 million people every year.

In Everything is Tuberculosis, John tells Henry’s story, woven through with the scientific and social histories of how tuberculosis has shaped our world and how our choices will shape the future of tuberculosis.
