Closed for a few weeks
Hi Folks! I’m closed for a few weeks in January but don’t worry!
We’re back to regular hours on January 24th!
New Year's Eve
New Year’s Eve at Hi-Fidelity! I’m opening at 4pm NYE! We got music! We got black eyed peas (with and without pig knuckles)! We got our own shiny ball to gently lower from an arbitrary height as we count backwards from 10 to celebrate the inexorable passage of time! We got hot chocolate!
Come celebrate with us! And dress up! We’ll give out prizes to the best dressed around 11!
Was that too many exclamation points!? Probably!
OPEN MIC: ORIGINAL MUSIC
What’s better than a creative space full of creative people? Talented songwriters sharing their original music in said creative space with said creative people! Live mixed, and open to all types of performers, our open mic has really become an incredible evening full of amazing local musicians!
Interested in playing? Sign up list is available at the brewery at 6:30!
Sets are 10 minutes long with 5 minutes of set up and tear down. Plan on 2 songs and if we’re on time maybe more
And remember we want to hear your songs! Covers are great but at Hi-Fidelity We want to hear your originals!
Symposium
Every Sunday afternoon is a public symposium at Hi-Fidelity. Very casual open ended inquiries into whatever you’d like! We’ll nominate topics, vote on what to chat about, and then have a lightly moderated conversation (it’s not a debate club, I try to make sure everyone has a chance to speak). There are no limits to potential topics for nomination! Metaphysics, ethics, music, unsolved mysterious, or supernatural encounters! Whatever strikes your fancy!
PIRATE NIGHT w/ THE SHANK PAINTERS
Every fourth Friday we welcome the Shank Painters to our tasting room to fill our hearts with nautical folk tunes and sea shanties! This extremely talented quartet really know how to put on a show and always arrive with props, costumes, and a great sense of humor. There’s a reason why they have a monthly residency at Hi-Fidelity—you should come find out for yourself!

COMICS AGAINST HUMANITY
Join Carlo Rojas as he hosts a variety of fun features of Comedy Night at Hi-Fidelity!
Comics Against Humanity: Is a combination of Trivia and Comedy Open Mic. Comics can sign up for 3-5 minute sets starting at 6:30pm and the audience plays trivia with answers in the style of Cards Against Humanity, so the right answer doesn’t necesarily award more points than a funny answer. Each round of trivia and comedians comes with a chance to win prizes!

INTERACTIVE: Groove space with space fog
Join us every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month 1pm-4pm at hi-fidelity (200 Anderson Street, Bay 6 Portland, Maine) Get to know your fellow musicians as we have a casual afternoon jam catered to all levels of experience. We will groove on simple digestible forms ranging anywhere from 1 chord to a 4 chord loop. Are we on the verse or the chorus? It doesn’t matter because each jam has a simple, repetitive, and predictable progression (we’re not even going to take it to the bridge). Respect your musical neighbors and leave space for the group to listen to each other and create something unique in the moment.
ANDREW LAVOUGE & FREINDS VARIETY SHOW
Join us every 3rd Friday for some ambient tunes from Andrew Lavouge and a few friends he’ll invite to play along the way! Music starts at 8pm, tips for the musicians are highly encouraged!
